I first became interested in the DeLorean in 1985 with the release of
"Back to the Future". For awhile, I thought that the DeLorean was a
car made only for the movie until my dad told me that it was a real
production car made in the early 80's.
I first saw a DeLorean in 1987 about 1/4 mile from my house and I was
ecstatic. To see one in person gave me an adrenaline rush. Over the
next few years I saw a few DeLoreans. I attended the annual auto show
in San Diego in 1991 and they had a DeLorean from "Back to the Future"
on display and I got my picture taken with it. It became my mission ot
one day own a DeLorean.
I purchased my DeLorean in December 2003 and have since replace and/or
updated all mechanical components. The car runs great now and is quite
reliable.
The DeLorean is a blast to drive. I had the car lowered with
performance suspension and had the windows tinted so that the car not
only looks better but handles better as well. As an added bonus I
like all the attention my car gets. I plan on owning my DeLorean for
years to come.
